Cornell NorCal is managed by a committed group of volunteer Cornellians who are elected annually by our membership. Cornellians serving as board members for the 2025-2026 term are as follows:
Bill Roeschlein, President
Bill Roeschlein, MBA '00, works as a Chief Financial Officer in the Bay Area and has served on the Cornell NorCal Board of Directors since 2020.
Ash Vaidya, Vice President and Director of Membership
Ash Vaidya has been in the technology industry for over 20 years as an entrepreneur/operator, investment banker, and investor. He is a co-founder of Sanctum Capital, an alternative investment platform focused on making debt and equity investments in high-growth technology companies. Mr. Vaidya is a frequent guest lecturer at Cornell’s Johnson School of Management on venture capital finance and related subjects. He currently serves on the Boards of the Advisory Council of Entrepreneurship@Cornell, Cornell Alumni Admissions Ambassador Network, and Cornell NorCal. Mr. Vaidya received a BA in Computer Science and Economics in 1999 as well as an MBA in 2007 from Cornell University, where he was the recipient of the Fried Fellowship.

Katherine Stultz, Secretary
Katherine Vega Stultz '95 is a biotech executive and living in the SF Bay Area since 2020. She has had several stints volunteering and leading efforts with Cornell alumni groups in the many places she’s previously lived including the east coast, midwest and abroad. Katherine has joined the Cornell Nor Cal Board this year and is excited to help build connections with alums in the Bay area.
Peihua Ku, Director of Technology
Peihua Ku, A&S '94, started on the Board during the Pandemic. Born in Manhattan, raised in Queens, went to school in the Bronx, then upstate to Cornell, Peihua didn't arrive in California until graduate school at UCLA. Now living on the Coastside of San Mateo, he also volunteers with CoastPride, Coastside Hope, and the Half Moon Bay Library.
Sharon Koay, Director of Communications
Sharon Koay, MBA ‘07, MILR ‘07, has more than 15 years of experience in human resources and compensation management at technology and healthcare companies. She is a Bay Area native. Sharon also volunteers with Cake4Kids, Stanford Blood Center, and Sunnyvale Community Services. During her free time, Sharon likes to travel, go for hikes and test her creativity in the kitchen.
Laura Bloch, President Emeritus and General Counsel
Laura Bloch, A&S '88, works as an attorney, property manager, and manager of two kids. She was born and raised in Los Angeles and now lives in San Francisco. In addition to serving as General Counsel and Secretary for Cornell NorCal, her Cornell volunteering includes serving as a Cornell Alumni Admissions Ambassador as well as a Class of ‘88 officer.
Megha Acharya, Director-at-Large
Megha Acharya, MBA '24, has over 15 years of experience in healthcare strategy and GTM approach for complex medical devices. She also served on other non-profit boards like YWCA and HBA to foster a sense of inclusivity and belonging. She loves to travel, hike or ski with friends and family.

Tasnuva Tabassum, Lead Event Director
Tasnuva Tabassum, MS '17 graduated from Cornell with an M.S. in Materials Science and Engineering in 2017. Since then she has worked at Applied Materials as a Process Engineer before pivoting into Program Management roles at Apple and now at Google. Tasnuva loves connecting with people and is excited to lead the ED team on her 2nd year in the board! Her passion is to introduce Bangladeshi food to the NorCal area as it’s own unique cuisine and she has started a dinner party series. Check out her Bangladeshi Supper Club.

Mae Lum, A&S '84, has worked in program management and educational publishing after earning an MA in International Relations. She also volunteers with CAAAN and various animal rescue groups. Srikanth Deshpande, Director of Events
Srikanth Deshpande, MBA '13, is a Senior Product Executive with over 20 years of experience across both large technology firms and high-growth startups. Srikanth specializes in building and scaling enterprise and consumer products at the intersection of cloud computing, AI, and programmatic advertising. Over the past decade, Srikanth has led product strategy for CTV advertising and Cloud platforms at industry leaders such as LinkedIn, Roku, RocketFuel, Amazon Web Services, and Qualcomm—driving significant revenue growth and customer adoption. Srikanth enjoys hiking and mountain biking when not busy keeping a Samoyed puppy engaged.
Paris Hsu '16, Director of Events
Paris Hsu, BS '16, joining the Board for the first time as Event Director! :) After her engineering degree at Cornell and a Master's from UMich, she pivoted from UX design and is now a Product Manager at Google. Originally from Taipei (big streetfood advocate), she has also lived through cities like Shenzhen, Tory, Ithaca, Budapest, Seattle, before she landed in the Bay Area. Extremely obsessed with tennis and pickleball, Paris loves bringing people together and is excited to merge her passions in her new role. Look forward to a year packed with pickleball tournaments, escape room adventures, board game nights, and comedy shows with the Cornell NorCal community!
