What is the difference between the Cornell Alumni Association of Northern California (CAANC) and Cornell Silicon Valley (CSV)?
CAANC is a non-profit organization funded by annual dues from its alumni members. CAANC's mission is to serve three main Cornell constituencies: prospective students, current students and alumni through a variety of activities that include Cornell Admissions Alumni Ambassadors Network (CAAAN), funding of scholarships, hosting events, keeping alumni updated of Cornell news and facilitating networking and mentorship opportunities.
CSV is operated and funded directly by Cornell University. Its focus is to help alumni, established businesses, and start-ups make useful connections with each other, and with Cornell faculty, staff, and students, involved in the science, technology and entrepreneurial fields through networking and educational programs and events. CSV not only hosts events in the Silicon Valley, but in San Francisco and across the Bay Area. Click here to be directed to CSV's website.
