Join alumni from Northwestern University, University of Chicago and Duke University for a hike on Angel Island. Well-known for its spectacular, breathtaking views of the Bay area, Angel Island is also a place of historical significance.
We will hike the island's gorgeous Northridge and Sunset Trail. The entire group will scale to summit of Mt. Livermore - which provides a breathtaking 360-degree panoramic view of the Bay Area.
After the hike, we’ll stop at the Visitor Center in Ayala Cove (Quarantine Station), which once served as a bachelor officers’ quarters.
The Visitor Center has a viewing room which shows two twenty-minute films. One film covering the history and natural beauty of the island, the other, Carved in Silence, tells the story of the island’s part in immigration history.
Ferry to the island departs at 11:45am from Pier 41. It returns at 4:55pm.
Registration is required due to limited tickets for the ferry.
