Northern California Alum Kyle Rose To Race Across America with Team Type 1 Cycling
Rose recently profiled in the San Francisco Examiner for involvement with the team.
As
a member of Team Type 1 cycling, Kyle Rose has spent countless hours training
to prepare for the annual Race Across America, a 3,014-mile trek across the
county. As the payoff, on June 20 he
will join his seven teammates as they begin the competition to claim the RAAM (Race
Across America) title.
Kyle
is the only member of the team from California,
which includes an international crew of talented cyclists. The group will train together only a few
times before starting their course from Oceanside
to Annapolis, MD. in mid-June.
Rose was
diagnosed with diabetes at the age of 16, and is now serving as an inspiration for
the disease, traveling with his teammates to attend diabetes camps and events
for kids across the country.
“Anyone
out there touched by diabetes already belongs to our team, no matter what their
age or how they are affected.” Rose said. “They are our inspiration and we will
win it for them!”
Best
of luck to Kyle and his team as they bring home the win!
