On March 21,
45 Cornell alumni joined 33 University
of Chicago alumni for an
outing to watch the San Jose Sharks play the Dallas Stars in a sold-out game.
The game was a
clear win for the Sharks, who took the Stars in a 5-2 victory. In true Big Red fashion, the Cornell crowd
shouted “RED” during the appropriate line of the national anthem, which was
clearly heard by the two Cornell players on the ice, as later reported.
In an added bonus this year, not only did Douglas Murray '03 come to the post-game
silent auction and raffle, but the group was also joined by recent call-up Ryan
Vesce '04. Both of them answered questions and signed pictures, jerseys,
hats, and Cornell banners graciously.
In total, the event
raised $577, which will go directly to the CAANC Scholarship fund. Thank you to all who attended—we’ll see you
next year!
