The 2008 Annual Alumni Picnic and Wine Tasting event was a success thanks to support from the University!  In total, 81 alumni attended ranging from the Class of 2004 up to the Class of 1938 and from as close as Napa to as far away as Oregon.  As you can see in the attached pictures, the weather was beautiful and the venue was pristine.  Notable alumni attendees included:

• Heather Madland, President of the Cornell Alumni Association of Northern California (CAANC);
• Anna Kharbas, President of CAANC's San Francisco regional committee;
• Brett Owens, head of the Sacramento/Davis alumni group;
• Peter Lee, Director of the Western Regional Office of Alumni Affairs and Development;
• John and Piera Dermody, hosts of the 2004 Annual Alumni Picnic and Wine Tasting;
• Pam Marone, prior CALS Outstanding Alumni Award winner; and 
• Ray Borton, current CALS Outstanding Alumni Award winner. 

The wine tasting offered by William Hill Estate Winery was extremely generous, the food was fantastic, and the speaker, Tomas Pinney, was very informative.  The Borton’s even prepared a dish made from Cornell apples.  Best of all, the Winery enjoyed the event so much that they’ve committed to hosting again next year at the same location!
